First in a series of commercials directed and produced for agency, WDM and The Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The use of Resin’s motion control kit assisted in the creation of seamless transitions and the ability to integrate shared CGI elements across each of the scripts. Resin also designed and executed an on-set lighting solution linked to the motion control setup that precisely animated our on-set lights for each pass.
In post, Resin's visual effects team produced the photo-real Pilatus aircraft that cocoon's the patient, doctor and nurse.

The frequency of fatal crashes, where drivers and riders are testing positive to illegal drugs, is increasing on South Australian roads. This latest campaign for the Motor Accident Commission of South Australia aims to combat this disturbing trend, and reduce the overall incidence of drug driving, by educating the public about the time it takes for drugs to pass through their system.
Produced for agency, KWP! and the Motor Accident Commission, includes some behind the scenes footage captured on set and before and after sequence showing some of the visual effects work.
Resin directed and produced the commercial and handled all the visual effects and post work.
We had the opportunity to revisit the characters from last years commercial and develop a narrative around the positioning, A Whole New World. In addition to the TV production we created a high resolution print asset delivered at 20K that has been used for posters, tram wraps and a host of print and digital applications.

"l've just completed my first job with Resin and can definitely say it wont be the last. The boys were very professional in their approach and handled the challenging commercial with ease. What l noticed was a unique understanding of the visual and they can be trusted to make decisions without a director holding their hands through every step of the process." After being invited to bid on the production of the 2015 Clipsal 500 brand commercial Resin was awarded on the strength of the directors treatment and creative vision for the commercial. The strategic direction was to look forward to the future generations of race goers. Expanding upon a narrative developed by the agency, Showpony – The film is an exploration of the sensory experience. Blurring the line of observation and first person experience we take the audience on a frenetic journey that attempts to capture the sheer adrenaline of the Clipsal 500.
With only a five week production schedule and an ambitious scope of work with 31 shots, the commercial is a mixture of pure CGI, visual effects shots, live action that we produced and augmentation of some existing content.

Briefed to realise the company line of 'Making Magic Moments', Resin designed and produced an animated wonderland constructed of Original Glazed Krispy Kreme donuts. The two minute animated sequence was delivered as a 360 degree projection experience for the opening of Adelaide's first Krispy Kreme store. An animated wonderland constructed of Original Glazed Krispy Kreme donuts. The installation was was produced as a seamless 360 degree panorama and setup in the drive through of the new Krispy Kreme site and as VIP guests arrived at the event they passed through the space to experience the projection.
Resin worked with agency kwp! to develop key visuals for Coopers Sparkling and Pale Ale. The production approach was a first for Coopers with Resin producing photo-real 3D environments and products. Every element including the bottle, glass, beer tap and environment is produced in 3D allowing ultimate flexibility for composition of the images which need to cover a wide range of aspect ratios and resolutions. We composed around 9 layouts of each environment and setup templates allowing the art department to quickly and easily generate new headlines, a common requirement for this client that is responsive to current events with it's advertising.
Images were produced at various resolutions with layered Photoshop files produced as high as 12k resolution. Product representation and realism where mandatory, take a look at the bottle or glass and let us know what you think.
– Cheers

Christmas in the City is an augmented reality (AR) app that was conceived and developed by Resin for the Adelaide City Council. Available for free on Apple and Android devices, the app features a GPS enabled map to locate markers all over the city. Once activated the markers reveal a number of animations of Santa and his reindeers preparing for Christmas. With over 40 separate locations making this installation a world first for its scale in a city.
Christmas in the City sees quite a few advances since we developed Two Left Feet which were both developed on the Unity platform. The AR will now continue to track even if the device loses the marker and the Town Hall marker once activated switches to using the devices gyroscope to provide a really fluid experience as the user tracks Santa and his Reindeer flying down King William Street. We’ve also given consideration to how people might want to stage photos with their children with Santa and the Reindeers and provided a way to make this easier within the app.
Read the full press release at Campaign Brief and an article on Adelaide Now. The app has also been covered by various media channels including the Channel 9 news and Today show.
Barkley is best described as a pop culture pet-sim.
Users look after Barkley by keeping several mood categories in balance, feeding, playing, entertaining and so on. As you do this you will unlock new commands and items to play with Barkley. Do this well (or not) and you earn coins that can be used to purchase skins that have been inspired by pop culture for Barkley, his kennel and yard to taste.
By default the game takes advantage of gestural commands and the accelerometer for navigation, users can also download a marker which allows them to play the game in AR mode so you can explore Barkley and his world up close and interact from any viewpoint. Take in game selfies with Barkley and the various costumes (or skins) you collect and complete daily challenges such as distracting Barkley to allow the postman to make his delivery and so on to earn big. Daily play will reward users with new skins available in the costume store in the quest for the unobtanium skin Goldly.
About the Project
Barkley is an independent production and release by Resin. The idea for Barkley first seeded several years ago shortly after we released Two Left Feet. Download the app for free now on iPad and iPhone and an Android version is trailing for the less fortunate.
